They provided thoughts and inspirations for the future developments of the Yangtze River and similar regions. Under the circumstance of the COVID-19 economic recovery, this exhibition showcased the significance of the natural environment protection.
This is my poster for the Exhibition. The mother Yangtze river as we know as the third largest river deserves to be explored more from above in future. This is why I have incorporated two things: an exquisitely carved awe-inspiring 15-meter-high smiling Maitreya Buddha and cable cars along the mountains. The river Yangtze is already a mystery for visitors as it has been the source of livelihood for many dynasties! Imagine the views people will get from the cable cars and the sight of the ‘smiling’ Maitreya Buddha, will make them forget the worldly matters. The cable cars along the river could be a great tourist attraction and a good way to introduce people to the past culture and dynasties along the river. It also adds a little adventure and excitement for the tourists. The journey along the river and towards the mountains, prepares one to work towards emptying their minds to encounter the smiling Buddha as if he is looking at them into the eye. The smile of the Maitreya Buddha is so captivating and enigmatic that the people facing it feel spiritually small and mystified at its gaze.
